By programming brew temperature, brew ratio, pressure profiling and pre-infusion, professional barista’s can optimise texture and flavour when brewing espresso. Just because it’s a pro machine, you don’t need to be a pro to use it. The Morning pro comes with 10 preloaded brew recipes designed by expert baristas. Furthermore, the app enables specialty roasters to upload brewing recipes for their specific coffees, accessed via the app and poured perfectly at the touch of a button. It’s as good as it can get and amazingly easy to use.

What is a “brewing recipe” and how does it affect your cup of coffee? Like chefs, expert baristas design brewing recipes to achieve ideal mouthfeel or texture, and flavour from different coffees. Depending on a coffee’s roast profile, light/medium/dark, the barista will program these variables, which are available to you via the Morning app:

Brewing ratio: Water quantity in versus liquid coffee quantity out.
Water temperature: Lighter roasts require higher brewing temps than darker roasts
Pressure profile: This allows the barista to dictated how they wish to apply pressure throughout the shot to target certain flavours. This is particularly useful in specialty coffees that are now readily available in capsule form.
